House Rules

The number of people who may be at the property at any one time is the same number of renters stated on the reservation confirmation. In other words – no non-renting guests are permitted. If you would like to invite guests over for drinks or dinner you must receive permission ahead of time from the owner. No photo shoots allowed without written permission from the owner. If you're interested in having a photo shoot at High Desert House please ask. The guest shall allow the host (or his designee) access to the property for purposes of repairs and inspection if required. The host shall exercise this right of access in a reasonable manner. Smoking is not allowed inside the house or within 15 feet of any open door. House trained dogs allowed for a one-time $95 fee and must be disclosed upon booking. Property is not fenced. No other animals are permitted. Max allowance of 2 on the property. We are not equipped to shampoo furniture or rugs or dry clean bedding when fast turnarounds are so common. If the property is damaged or soiled, we are unable to rent the unit to the next guests until repairs or cleaning can be completed. For these reasons, we ask that you bring your dog's beds and protective coverings to cover any place where your dog may elect to lie down (other than the bare concrete floors). Also, the dog must be crated when left alone in the house. Dogs should at all times be kept on a leash outside. Dog owners should immediately pick up after their dogs and deposit the waste in the trash bins. Finally, dog owners should understand that we will not hesitate to deduct as needed from their house deposit to cover any cleaning or repairs necessitated by the presence of their pets. In the desert, critters are simply a fact of life. Just a warning for those wary of bugs; even though we have the house professionally cleaned after each guest, and we use humane methods of mitigating pests where possible, we simply can't avoid the occasional critter(s) from breaking in. This includes critters related pool/spa amenities at the property. The existence of bugs in/around pool/spa amenities are 100% out of the host's control. Southern California is inhabited by abundant predatory wildlife including but not limited to: coyotes, bears, snakes, raptors, rodents, arachnids, and scorpions. Although we have had exactly zero issues with any of the above, you must be very vigilant with your loved ones to keep everyone safe from local wildlife. We are on a fragile septic system here in the desert. PLEASE DO NOT FLUSH ANYTHING OTHER THAN TOILET PAPER DOWN THE TOILET! This includes but is not limited to baby wipes (or wipes of any kind), feminine hygiene products, facial tissue, paper towel, hair etc. These things WILL clog the system and you will not be able to use the shower, sinks or toilets. Quiet hours are from 10pm-8am. During that time, no music outside and voices must be hushed. Sound travels far, be considerate. Always keep the cover on the hot tub unless you are using it (see house manual for removal instructions). The heat escapes quickly. Do not remove the chemical floater. You must rinse off before entering. Trash needs to be bagged and then placed INSIDE the black bags in the outdoor bins. The black bags can slide down sometimes, you may need to pull it up. Guests must thoroughly shower BEFORE AND AFTER use of the pool/spa facilities. We maintain our facilities in top standards of cleanliness and safety. However, we are not responsible for sensitive skin types, rashes, folliculitis, reactions, etc. as a result of using the spa/pool facilities. Spa/pool maintenance takes place on an ongoing basis to maintain our highest standards. As such, our spa/pool professional may visit the home during your stay in the mid-day hours. This may or may not force the spa/pool to be unusable for several hours during your stay. Gatherings of any kind above the number of guests registered are strictly prohibited without express consent of the hosts (and applicable fees). Guests are expected to report items of concern to the host immediately upon discovery in order to allow the hosts the opportunity to remedy the situation. Reporting items of concern in such a way that gives the host no opportunity to remedy the situation (i.e. close to/after departure, or refusing assistance outright) is a violation of House Rules. It is a violation of our House Rules to ask/request refunds for ANY reason outside of the host's control. It is a violation of our House Rules to ask/request a cancelation/rebooking of any kind for any reason. The Town of Yucca Valley requires all occupants of the listing be disclosed on all bookings. If the guest does not make their occupancy 100% clear at booking, the hosts will reply with a confirmation of occupancy. Not disclosing/confirming occupancy within 48 hours of your booking confirmation is a violation of House Rules. Guest agrees to use due care in the use of the premises, and waives any claim against Owner with respect to the condition of the premises, other than claims resulting solely from Owner's or their Employee's gross negligence or intentional misconduct. The property has a pool and/or hot tub, Guest further agrees that he/she will not permit running or dangerous play around the pool and/or hot tub or on the pool deck and will indemnify and hold Owner harmless from any injuries resulting from these actions.

Beautiful spot on a hill with panoramic views. Also a gorgeous space with delightful collection of objects and details. The view from the living room was so special in the morning. This place had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend of sound bath, stargazing and hikes. It was easy for us to find and settle down. Grateful to our hosts for the opportunity to stay here!!
